Well..that was an amazing summer. Certainly one to rival the scorcher of 1976.
Autumn seems to have come early and very suddenly and consequently trees and shrubs which changed colour early are losing their leaves rapidly too. Looks like autumn 2018 will be short but intense.

| The sedums have really enjoyed the heat and dry this year. Flowering all round the garden and they have held their shape. Too much rain and they grow soft and leggy and then keel over. |
Dahlia "David Howard" looking good as always.
This is my star - Cercis canadensis "Forest Pansy" - looks good all year but particularly so in autumn.

Yes, the seasons are changing, each day there is more evidence that autumn has definitely arrived. I like the way we have 4 very different seasons, they keep the interest going in the garden for much longer.
