After the snow - Up the lane and down to the Levels

By Sunday the snow was beginning to melt, the roads were wet rather than icy so time for a walk up the lane and down on to the Levels.

Up the lane the fields had varying amounts of snow.  There had been a lot of drifting in the winds so it was deeper in some areas than others.

The track leading down to the Levels.

We had intended to walk to the bridge over the River Tone but the melt-water was too deep

So a diversion onto a newly -cleared Bridleway which meant we could walk a circular route back home.

Frozen rhynes......

and willows.....

....typical Somerset levels scene

and back home some final shots of the garden in the snow.. It doesn't happen often here in Somerset.

and it's nearly all gone now just some remnants clinging on round the edges.
